The Mermaid Parade 2022

Every June, Coney Island becomes a colorful destination with the popular Mermaid Parade. This iconic parade has taken place since 1983 and it's inspired by the Coney Island Mardi Gras parades of old times.
A perfect day to enjoy the historic Coney Island boardwalk and see the peculiar & unique carts and costumes stroll down the board-walk.
This year, as before, hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and visitors from across the country come to cleebrate and watch the parade coming back after it had been suspended for Covid-19.
The Parade Route:
- Starting from West 21st & Surf Avenue,
- To West 10th Street,
- To the Boardwalk,
- To Steeplechase Plaza under the Parachute Jump.
