The Metropolitan - The MET - will celebrate its 150th anniversary this year and to celebrate they will run a special exhibition -- "About Time: Fashion and Duration for the occasion". Paper lanterns light up to illuminate ChinaTown
On Mott Street, between Canal and Bayard Street, hundreds of lanterns were lit thanks to the Light Up Chinatown Project. Each lantern has been customized and colored in tropical tones. Each lantern represents a donation ($45 or more) made by individuals to the project. The aim is to light up the streets in these dark times and invite New Yorkers and those rare tourists to visit the neighborhood.
News for those who want to travel again in 2021
Will I have to have a special PASS or a Health Passport to travel? It seems so!
Some organizations, such as IATA - the International Air Transport Association - and airline companies are already working on it. A pass -- the Common Pass, has already been tested by United Airlines on some routes such as between London and Newark last October. These will be passes to be presented together with the boarding pass. Applications are being created that will allow entering personal information privately and safely including vaccination records and/or negative test result that lack of COVID-19. Such applications will be able to generate a QR code that contains all the information and which can be presented at the time of boarding, but not only to travel, this could also allow entry to any indoor events, such as concerts or theatrical performances, or sporting events.
The new rule in effect from January 26th for those arriving in the United States.
Travelers arriving in the US will need to submit a negative viral test result before boarding their flight. The test must be done within three days of the scheduled departure and passengers must show written documentation to the airline or they can provide proof that they have recovered from COVID-19.
Irene's Resolutions for 2021
January 1st arrives and people are always so keen to make big promises with the hope to turn their life over, improve it, learn new things, and so on. I did it too in the past. Making Resolutions was my way to toast to the new year. From resolutions, I made when I was a kid to read more books, to pay more attention to teachers, to help more in the house to "grown-up" resolutions like try to be healthier, travel more, learn a new language, etc. However starting this year, I've decided to switch a few things around.
