If the Weather does not betray us this year, usually March in New York brings around the first semi-mild temperatures with the first days of Spring characterized by sporadic rain and warmer sun rays ... and finally, outdoor activities can begin!
2021 Daylight Saving Time in NYC
On March 14, 2021, Daylight Saving will begin at 2:00 am. Remember to move the clock 1 hour forward. For a few days the time-difference with the rest of the world will (in most cases) be reduced by 1 hour as the US is one of the first countries to "Spring Forward". If you are looking for additional info on the NY Time-zone etc, we have this article for you -- New York Time Zone Information - Daylight Saving & Standard Time - Jet Lag - Travel Tips.
NEW OPENINGS: March 2021
We will continue to have our meals (lunches & dinners) outdoors in those beautiful "Alfresco Dining Areas" that NYC restaurants have set up all over the city ... but starting March, the Indoor dining Area will also increase to a 35% capacity. Starting March 5th, we will return to the Movies, even if only with 25% capacity and a maximum of 50 people per auditorium. Some long-awaited Movies will finally premier this Spring like "Black Widow", the Marvel superhero movie and the latest James Bond-- "No Time To Die". The next installment of the Top Gun franchise -- "Maverick" has instead been postponed to next year. Also some interesting choices for movie releases -- Warner Bros has instead decided to premiere its highly anticipated films, such as Matrix 4, Dune and In The Heights, in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously. A highly successful choice so far (apparently) for their first Big-Movies realesed on HBO Max such as Wonder Woman 1984 and The Little Things with Denzel Washington.
Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2021
The long awaited St.Patrick's Day Parade will likely not happened this year either (last year was cancelled too) ... The largest parade in the world, on Fifth Avenue in New York, dates back to 1762 and this would have been the 260th annual parade. You can read more about the Parade and the Holiday here -- Saint Patrick's Day.
If you are up to and always following all the precautions and guidelines such as 6-feet away and double masks ... maybe, you can meet at the pub for a good Beer!! If anything changes, we will keep you informed.
Outdoor Activities
Central Park is waiting you, the best place to admire the change of the seasons ... You can hop aboard the Ferry to Staten Island in the morning to enjoy the beautiful Sunrise, plus, there are many places where you can go to admire the Manhattan Skyline. Let's not forget about the Observatories -- go up to Hudson Yards Edge or the Empire State or the Top of the Rock ... all three offer incredible outdoor and indoors views. Plus with the reduced capacity in place and fewer crowds, you will be able to truly enjoy the scenery like never before.
