A New Outlet Mall Now Open in Staten Island

Are you looking for an Outlet Mall easily reachable from Manhattan? Well, look no further! The new Outlet shopping center called "Empire Outlets" recently opened its doors right by the Staten Island Ferry in Staten Island.

It couldn't be any more convenient to get to this new shopping center, you just need to head down to Battery Park and board the Staten Island Ferry to St. George Terminal. Plus, did we mention that the Ferry is 100% FREE?

Yes, the Staten Island Ferry also known as the "orange ferry" or the "free cruise" is a historic orange vessel that crosses the New York Bay from Battery Park to Staten Island giving great views over the Bay and the Statue of Liberty, and it's completely free for locals and visitors alike.

WHEN TO GO SHOPPING - OUR TIP

Why not taking advantage of the Free Ferry and get to Staten Island one of these Summer afternoons? We really recommend planning your outing in the afternoon, so you can make sure you'll get to see the beautiful sunset over the bay of NYC. Trust us, the view is just incredible! Sometimes the sky behind the Statue of Liberty starts coloring in the hues of orange, red and purple.

THE FERRY - SCHEDULE AND LOCATION

MANHATTAN - The Ferry Station is located in Battery Park (East Side of the Park) and easily accessible by Subway. You can hop on the 1 Line (red) or the W, R Line (yellow).

STATEN ISLAND - The Ferry Station is located in the north part of the Island, St. George Terminal.

The Ferry operates 24/7 with departures scheduled every 30 minutes.

Located a mere 5-minute walking distance from the terminal, once you get here, you will find many stores, and a couple of dining options too, to entertain yourself for at least half a day.

The Center will also be hosting events regularly throughout the Summer.

BROADWAY IN THE BOROS

This popular city-sponsored event brings original Broadway Show stars to different stages across the city. You will have the chance to assist to some live performances from the actual casts members of some of the most iconic shows on Broadway, and it's all Free!

On July 26th, you will be able to see sketches from 2 musicals -- the Tony-nominated Beetlejuice and award-winning Chicago.

EMPIRE SESSIONS

Every weekend throughout the summer, you can shop bargains while listening to some Live DJ Music from local artists that will perform a mix of hits, favorite classics and some of the best dance music out there, always all completely free to the public.
