Located in one of the most elegant Mansions along 5th Avenue, the Neue Gallery is devoted to the early 20th Century Austrian and German Art and Design. Built by the same architect of the New York Public Library: Carrere & Hastings, the Mansion resemblances Parisian Palaces.
The collection includes paintings by artists like Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka, furniture designed by Otto Wagner and decorative arts by Joseph Hoffmann. You will also find 20th century German art from several schools and movements: the Brucke, Blaue Reiter and Bahaus.
