Tavern on the Green in Central Park - American Cuisine

DESCRIPTION

Tavern on the Green went under a complete renovation and reopened in 2016. The original building was built in 1870 and its function was to host the sheep inside Central Park. But its history as a restaurant began back in 1934 when the Sheep Barn was transformed into a Tavern and began to serve the famous New York socialites of the time, presidents and famous actors. Used as SET in many famous films like I Love You (2008), Wall Street (1987) and Ghostbusters.



Dining at the Tavern in Central Park is an opportunity to spend a special evening, in a characteristic setting, even a little "rustic" but that still recalls a New York of a different era.

The Tavern on the Green Restaurant offers American and International cuisine with menus inspired by the traditional French and Italian Cuisines. Fresh and Seasonal ingredients are used throughout the menu featuring fish dishes and premium meats.

Avarage Prices and Menu

A la Carte Menu features prices that are generally considered medium/high, as always, dinner-time is more expensive than lunch-time and remember that you always have to add a tip, the very much-discussed gratuity, to the final check which is usually between 15% and 22% of the total bill pre-tax. We like to take this opportunity to remind you that in the US Tips (aka Gratuity) are basically the Service Fee in a restaurant and although technically not mandatory they are highly suggested and the only valid reason why you wouldn't leave one is if the service has been terrible.
